Of Barrington, NJ, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, age 91 yrs. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth M. (nee Schumacher). Devoted father of Elizabeth Giambrone (Salvatore), William G. Wilson, Jr. (Mary Anne), and Barbara Newell (Donald, Sr.). Dear brother of Donald Wilson (Diane), June Bradley (Timothy), Kenneth Wilson (Sally Anne), and the late Robert Wilson, late Edward Wilson (Marianne), and the late John Wilson (Laura). Loving grandfather of Elizabeth, Erica (Erin), Donald, Jr (Elizabeth), Eric (Catherine), William, III, and Emily. Great-grandfather of Nolan, Norah, Naomi, Donald, III, Nicholas, Joseph, Brielle, and Grace. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Bill graduated from Camden High School and then served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He became president of Oaklyn Burner Service and later became a real estate agent. Bill had a passion for community service in Barrington where he has called home for the last 67 years. He served as Councilman for the Borough of Barrington as well as President of the Barrington Borough Board of Education. Additionally, he was a long-time coach for the Barrington Girl’s Softball League, the Barrington Little League, and the Jack Berger Basketball League. He was a member of the former Ascension Lutheran Church, prior to joining the Lutheran Church of Our Savior 37 years ago. When Bill was not volunteering, he enjoyed cheering for his grandchildren during their various sporting events, playing golf and racquetball, as well as traveling and enjoying his weekly Friday lunch with his friends. Bill and his late wife Betty enjoyed hosting an annual Carol Sing with family and friends in their home for 30 years. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Sunday evening from 6PM to 8PM at the POPIOLEK FUNERAL HOME, 400 Clements Bridge Rd, Barrington, NJ and on Monday morning from 9:30am at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 204 Wayne Avenue, Haddonfield, NJ 08033, where a Funeral Service will follow at 11am. Internment with Military Honors will take place in Harliegh Cemetery, Camden, NJ. If desired, the family requests memorial donation to the Lutheran Church of Our Savior at the above address.
