Of Runnemede, NJ, formerly of Barrington, NJ, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, age 90 yrs. He is predeceased by his wife Marie Connelly. He is the devoted father of Michael Connelly, Christopher Connelly, Kathleen Harrison (Jami), Lisa Marsh (Michael), and the late Patrick Connelly. Loving BeBop of Hannah Marsh, Alyssa Connelly, and Joslyn Harrison. Joe was born and raised in Philadelphia where he graduated from Northeast High School and attended LaSalle University. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Germany with Military Intelligence. Joe retired from Lockheed Martin and the U.S. Department of the Navy as a Procurement Specialist. After retirement Joe enjoyed working at Home Depot and Lowes. Joe and his late wife Marie were active parishioners of St. Francis de Sales Church. He was also a member and longtime president of the Barrington Democrat Club where he enjoyed working on various campaigns. Additionally, Joe was a member of the Cara Irish Society, the K & A Gang, CRAFT Club, and his Beer Can Club. Joe was previously active with the Barrington Little League as well as Barrington Girl’s Softball. In spite of all of his activity, Joe was most proud of his volunteerism for the American Red Cross to whom he donated over 32 gallons of blood! Joe will always be remembered for his bright smile and his positive outlook on life. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Monday evening from 7PM to 9PM at POPIOLEK FUNERAL HOME, 400 Clements Bridge Rd, Barrington, NJ. An additional viewing will be held on Tuesday morning from 10am at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, 4th Ave and Kings Highway, Haddon Heights, NJ, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am. Interment will follow in New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross, www.redcross.org. To express condolences, please visit www.njfuneralhome.net.
