Passed away peacefully, on April 21, 2018, age 82 yrs, formerly of Delran, NJ and Philadelphia, PA. Beloved and Devoted husband of the late Dorothy (nee Rojewski). Devoted father of Diana Fiste (Rusty), Anne-Marie Clements (Paul), Janine M. Smith, and Gregory Smith (Susan). Dear brother of Gloria Murtha (late William), Joan Schaffling (late William), Jerry Smith (Mary Ann), Joseph Smith (Kathy), late George Smith, Jr. (Anita), Late Helen Meskill (late Jim) and the late Marie Comitale (late Louis). Loving Poppy of Ryan, T.J., Kristi, Carli-Anne, Paul, Jr. “Manny,” Joseph, Antony, Nicole, and Sean. Jack was born and raised in North East Philadelphia on Princeton Ave. He was proud to have grown up in St. Bernard’s R.C. Church where he was an altar server. Jack graduated from St. Bernard’s grammar school and North Catholic High School, class of 1954. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve. Jack worked several jobs throughout his life, but he was most proud of his employment as a Philadelphia Police Officer. After moving to New Jersey, Jack was instrumental in building the Delran Softball League where he mentored many youth. In recent years, Jack enjoyed watching Philadelphia sports on T.V. and was excited to witness the Eagles Super Bowl victory. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday morning from 9:30am at St. Anselm’s R.C. Church, 1260 Dunks Ferry Rd, Philadelphia, PA, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.
