Of Collingswood, NJ, formerly of Delran, NJ, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2024, at
the age of 95. He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret “Peggy Jean” Roberts (née
Nicholson). Devoted father of Doug (Susan) Roberts, Ron (Lisa) Roberts, and the late Danny
Roberts. He was a cherished grandfather to Erika (Sam), Daniel (Veruchka), and Cambrielle and a
loving great-grandfather to Margaret Jean, Emerson Danielle, and Celine Inaiz.
Jack was a proud graduate of Rutgers University, after which he embarked on a distinguished
career with Janney, Montgomery, Scott, where he rose to become Executive Vice President, having
served as a stockbroker and office manager. Known for fostering a warm, family-like work
environment, Jack mentored countless brokers and financial advisors over the years, leaving a lasting
impact on his colleagues and the industry.
His passion for service led him to the Kiwanis Club of the Haddons (formerly the Kiwanis Club of
Camden) in 1951, where he remained a member for over 70 years. Jack held various leadership
roles, including club President from 1989 to 1991 and Lt. Governor of the New Jersey District of
Kiwanis International from 1995 to 1996. He earned the prestigious George F. Hixon Fellowship.
He was recently awarded the Kiwanis Legion of Honor for his 70 years of service, making him the
longest-tenured Kiwanian in the New Jersey District. Jack and Peggy Jean traveled the world
together, attending international conferences and fostering global friendships through Kiwanis.
A dedicated member of Delran United Methodist Church, Jack served as Chair of the Financial
Committee and was a valued advisor. He also lent his expertise as a board member and advisor to
the Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey, reflecting his deep commitment to
community and youth development.
An avid golfer, Jack found joy on the golf course whenever time allowed. Above all, he will be
remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his gentle and kind spirit, and his remarkable
leadership—qualities that touched everyone who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Jack’s life at a viewing on Saturday, September 28,
2024, from 9 AM to 11 AM at Delran United Methodist Church, 32 Conrow Road, Delran, NJ. A
Funeral Service will follow at 11 AM, with interment at Asbury Methodist Cemetery in
Cinnaminson, NJ.
Jack’s legacy of love, leadership, and service will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to
know him.
