On June 14, 2025, just shy of his 85th birthday, Dan Bargas Sr. of Barrington, NJ, put in his last day of work. Dan was born on June 26,1940 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to Dolores (nee Flores) and Ysmael Bargas. Dan served his country in the Army from 1957 to 1960. He had a host of jobs but is most remembered and respected as an ardent union ironworker for Cornell & Co. and Local 401 of Philadelphia, PA. Dan enjoyed camping with his family in Belhaven Lake RV Resort and spending winters in Las Vegas with his late son. In spite of retiring, up until a couple years ago, Dan could still be found tinkering around his home making repairs, working in the yard, and taking on DIY projects. He enjoyed time with his golden retriever, April, visits with family, and a good meal which included cooking and eating! Dan was predeceased by his loving wife Andrea “Andy” (nee Dehn), son Dennis, brother Raymond and sister Elvira. Dan is survived by sisters Anna and Irene and many nieces and nephews. In addition, he is survived by his son Daniel Bargas Jr. (Diane), daughter Debbie Rippman (Tom), daughter Denise Perez (Joe Mercado), grandchildren: Roberto (Shannon), Junior (Kristen), Selena, Stephanie (Dave), Abigail, Jessica and great grandchildren: Aubrey, Avery, Delaney, Finley, Jameson, and Francis. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects Friday, June 20, 2025 from 9-11am at Popiolek Funeral Home, 400 Clements Bridge Road, Barrington, NJ. A funeral service will follow at 11am. Interment at Harleigh Cemetery, Camden, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dementia Society of America.
