William R. Fehlinger

William R. (Bill) Fehlinger, 88, of Mays Landing, NJ and former long-time resident of Barrington, NJ died on March 4, 2015. Born in Wilkes Barre, Pa, he was predeceased by his parents, William and Esther Fehlinger, sister Ruth M. Fehlinger and brother George A. Fehlinger. He is survived by his son William L. Fehlinger (Patricia) of Frederick, MD, daughter RuthAnn Fehlinger of Barrington, granddaughter Kathryn DeSanto, sister-in-law Elizabeth A. Fehlinger of Barrington, many nieces and nephews, and his best friend Irene Maier of Mays Landing. Bill graduated from Dobbins Vocational High School in Philadelphia, a veteran of the United States Navy serving in World War II and the Korean Conflict, and retired from the elevator industry IUEC Local #5 Philadelphia. He was a Life Member of the Barrington Fire Company, served the Borough of Barrington as Borough Councilman, Fire Marshal and Fire Sub-Code Official, a founding member and first President of the original Woodland School PTA and member of the VFW. His long-time passion was genealogy and family ancestry. He belonged to several shore area genealogy clubs and enjoyed teaching family history research to groups and organizations. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9PM and again on Thursday morning from 10 to 11am at POPIOLEK FUNERAL HOME, 400 Clements Bridge Road, Barrington, NJ where a Funeral Service will follow at 11am.
