Bruce A. Abrams

October 31, 1954 — August 16, 2012

On August 16, 2012 of Runnemede, NJ, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving wife and sons age 57. Dearly beloved husband of 28 yrs to Mary L. (nee Claypoole), deeply devoted father of Bryan A. Abrams, Evan B. Abrams, and Kenneth Virtue. Son of the late Alberta and George C. Abrams, Jr. of Barrington. Dear brother of George Abrams, III (Wendy), Kathyryne Zito (Marc), Allen Abrams (Peg), Sandra Angelo (Bob), Pamela Abrams, and the late Lorraine Fabiani. Loving brother -in-law of Edward Claypoole (Diane), Eileen Sauls (Robert), John Claypoole and the late Joseph Claypoole. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Bruce was employed for over 32 years by Flag Service and Maintenance, Inc. of Thorofare, NJ owned by Thomas Suchocki. He was a highly skilled marine diesel mechanic and the shop manager and foreman for over 25 yrs until his death. Bruce was highly regarded, deeply respected and well loved by their customers and by all who worked with him. He was a true company man and was always a generous, willing teacher ready to share his vast knowledge and to be of service. Bruce was closely involved with Runnemede’s Cub and Boy Scout organizations with his sons since 1995. He participated in many scouting activities, assisted with Eagle Scout projects and attended many camping trips every year since. He lived to proudly see his son Evan acquire the rank of Eagle Scout in 2011. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his celebration of life on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 12noon at the Clayton Presbyterian Church, 205 N. Delsea Dr., Clayton, NJ (additional parking behind municipal Bldg.) where family and friends may call after 10am. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to the Runnemede Scouting Committee, Inc., 506 Sheppard Ave, Runnemede, NJ 08078. Arrangements by POPIOLEK FUNERAL HOME, Barrington.
